Property Value

When changing the item's modification date through this property, the physical item should be immediately modified if it exists. If it does not exist, the date should be cached and applied whenever this item is created.

Some types of items may not expose a modification date and time; in this case, DoHasLastWriteDateTime should return false to prevent DoLastWriteDateTime from being called.

Other types of items that do expose a modification date and time may not have the information available. In this case, System.DateTime.MinValue should be returned.
