    RenderSurface Property
    In This Topic
    Whether or not to render the chart to a bitmap or use a double buffer window.
    Syntax
    'Declaration

    <CategoryAttribute("General")>
    <DescriptionAttribute("Whether or not to render the chart to a bitmap or use a double buffer window.")>
    <DefaultValueAttribute(Mono.Cecil.CustomAttributeArgument)>
    Public Property RenderSurface As TargetRenderSurface
    'Usage

    Dim instance As Settings
    Dim value As TargetRenderSurface

    instance.RenderSurface = value

    value = instance.RenderSurface
    [Category("General")]
    [Description("Whether or not to render the chart to a bitmap or use a double buffer window.")]
    [DefaultValue(Mono.Cecil.CustomAttributeArgument)]
    public TargetRenderSurface RenderSurface {get; set;}
    Remarks
    OpenGL supports rendering in a GDI bitmap or Win32 window specially configured for OpenGL rendering. In Window mode the chart will automatically leverage the video board 3D acceleration. Because it is not guaranteed that the video drivers are up to date, the control uses by the default the slower but more robust mode – GDI bitmap. You may instruct the chart to render to a window at any time by setting the RenderToBitmap property to false.
    Example
    The following code will configure the chart to create a window render surface.
    ChartControl1.Settings.RenderToBitmap = False
    ChartControl1.Settings.RenderSurface = RenderSurface.Window;

    Target Platforms: Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
