Spring is finally here, and with it comes our latest update, the Spring 2025v2 release. As always, this one’s all about improving your development experience across the Xceed product line. Less fluff, more function. Let’s walk through what’s new and what’s been improved.
Xceed .NET Libraries
Xceed Workbooks for .NET 3.0
This is probably our biggest update to Workbooks in a while. First off, charts have been expanded significantly. You can now create and manage up to 50 different chart types through our API. That includes a range of line charts, column and bar charts, multiple pie and doughnut styles, scatter and bubble charts, as well as radar, stock, and even some new 3D options like Surface3D and Contour3D charts.
We’ve also added conditional formatting. You can now apply styles based on conditions to cells, rows, columns, or entire ranges.
There were improvements made to memory management, especially when working with large datasets. We’ve tested performance with millions of cells and things are holding up well.
Data validation also got some attention. It’s now more flexible, easier to apply, and better suited for custom use cases.
All in all, there are 8 new features and fixes in this release.
Xceed Words for .NET 5.0
Words also got a solid upgrade this time. We took the time to review how charts are handled, and each chart now has its own series type, which means more flexibility and a cleaner structure when you’re building or modifying them in Word documents.
We added five new chart types: radar, scatter, area, sunburst, and bubble.
We also spent time improving how HTML content is handled when added to DOCX files. Eight specific fixes were made around formatting, rendering, and integration issues.
In total, this version includes 22 new features and fixes.
WPF Controls
Xceed Toolkit Plus for WPF 5.0
This release brings some new visuals to the toolkit. You can now build doughnut charts directly in the Toolkit, and we’ve added a few nice touches to chart rendering. Smooth angles and gradient fills help charts look cleaner and more modern.
Some charts can now be animated, and we’ve added a way to get feedback based on mouse cursor position, so users can hover and get real-time value info right from the chart.
There are 8 new items in this release, between features and fixes.
(Here would be a good place to embed a small animated line chart that shows off some of the new visual features.)
Xceed DataGrid for WPF 7.3+
We’re in the process of reworking some of the internals of the DataGrid so it can take advantage of what the newer .NET frameworks have to offer.
Even though it continues to support a wide range of versions, from .NET Framework 4.0 and up, we’re investing time into making sure it performs even better on the latest runtimes. Future-facing updates are happening under the hood.
Reminder, Our Libraries Are Truly Cross-Platform
All of our components are built to run natively across major platforms. Whether you’re targeting desktop, server, mobile, or cloud, you’re covered.
Where Xceed runs:
- Windows: desktop, server, IoT
- Linux: all major distros
- macOS: includes native Apple silicon support
- Mobile: Android and iOS
That’s it for this release. If you’re already using these libraries, you’ll find the updates easy to adopt and worth the upgrade. If you’re new to Xceed, there’s never been a better time to try us out.
As always, if you have questions, feedback, or just want to tell us what you’ve built, we’re listening.
