    Grid control don’t work in design mode in VS2017:
    1. I’m install last version on Grid 4.1.17123.14080 (standalone installer) with “Integrate to VS” option;
    2. Open VS2017 and create empty WinForms VB project;
    3. Try to put on form in design mode;
    4. No any message or error, but any no visible control putted on form. I’m see GridControl1 in objects list of property dock window.
    5. Runned application with this “invisible” control also runs as empty form.

    I’m try:
    1. Reinstall Grid;
    2. Uninstall. Clear all links from GAC. Install;
    3. Put main libraries to GAC with gacutil.exe.
    4. Install VS2015 again;
    5. Reinstall Grid with VS2015 installed;

    No solution founded. Same issue with VS2015 and VS2017.

    Demo project created in VS2017: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqJPoW7EGfgIg5NoeLXd2P0udwTyFA

    Today test it on another PC – same result. Windows 10 x64 + VS2017 + Grid 4.1.

    Hi,

    We were able to reproduce the issue. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    A fix request has been submitted to the development team. We will inform you by email when the fix becomes available for download.

    Problem founded in *.Designer.vb of form. GridControl to added by designer in Controls collection:

    ‘frmManagerSelect

    Me.AutoScaleDimensions = New System.Drawing.SizeF(6.0!, 13.0!)
    Me.AutoScaleMode = System.Windows.Forms.AutoScaleMode.Font
    Me.ClientSize = New System.Drawing.Size(738, 426)
    Me.Name = “frmManagerSelect”
    Me.Text = “frmManagerSelect”
    CType(Me.GridControl1, System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize).EndInit()
    CType(Me.dataRowTemplate1, System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize).EndInit()
    CType(Me.ColumnManagerRow1, System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize).EndInit()
    Me.ResumeLayout(False)

    must be (highlighted):

    ‘frmManagerSelect

    Me.AutoScaleDimensions = New System.Drawing.SizeF(6.0!, 13.0!)
    Me.AutoScaleMode = System.Windows.Forms.AutoScaleMode.Font
    Me.ClientSize = New System.Drawing.Size(738, 426)
    Me.Controls.Add(Me.GridControl1)
    Me.Name = “frmManagerSelect”
    Me.Text = “frmManagerSelect”
    CType(Me.GridControl1, System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize).EndInit()
    CType(Me.dataRowTemplate1, System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize).EndInit()
    CType(Me.ColumnManagerRow1, System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize).EndInit()
    Me.ResumeLayout(False)

    If I’m add it manually – grid will available at form designer.

    We apologize for the delay. This issue is now fixed in the latest version (Grid for WinForms v4.2):
    “The grid control is now visible when dropping it onto the Visual Studio designer.”
