When "Data Type Only" is chosen in the Criterion Type group, the data type required must be specified in the Data Type dropdown list. 

The Required Field and Trim Left/Right checkboxes and the Customize Error Messages for this Criterion link are also enabled in the Parameters group. For details on these settings, see the Other Options topic.
