Performance enhancements and more
 

DataGrid for WPF moves to v5.3 and provides over 40 improvements, performance enhancements, and bug fixes. It adds more Excel-like abilities, a new asynchronous binding mode, and more. Extended WPF Toolkit Plus moves to v2.3 providing over 30 improvements and a new control, ToggleSwitch. SFTP for .NET jumps to v5.5 with performance increases in file transfers, SSH connection protocol flow control, and the ability to connect through a specific network adapter. All .NET controls in Data Manipulation Suite that are based on Xceed FileSystem classes move to v5.5 and include bug fixes and minor improvements.

WPF DataGrid and Toolkit updated
 

This release updates WPF controls. First, Xceed DataGrid for WPF moves to v5.2, offering a variety of performance improvements and over 50 reported issues addressed. Second, Xceed WPF Toolkit Plus moves to v2.2, providing over 20 bug fixes and improvements, plus 4 new controls: RadialGauge , a beautiful, styleable, feature-rich radial gauge control. RatingControl, a feature-rich, styleable, interactive rating control to display or edit ratings, with built-in icons. RangeSlider, lets users set a lower and upper value using a dual-thumb slider control. TimeSpanUpDown to allow easy +/- input of time spans over 24 hours.

Xceed updates WPF toolkit, adds datagrid
 

Version 1.8 of Xceed Extended WPF Toolkit Plus features improvements to the PropertyGrid control. It is now possible to specify the order in which categories appear when it is set to Categorized mode. It is also now possible to display custom strings for fields and enum values in, e.g., combo boxes. And the PropertyGrid can now be set to read-only for scenarios where you don’t want end-users to modify data. Four new numerical up-down controls, as well as an AutoSelectTextBox, a ValueRangeTextBox, and an improved MaskedTextBox, have been added. A version of our industry-leading WPF datagrid, which delivers a fluid, high-performance user experience, has also been added. Finally, several bugs have been fixed.

Silverlight datagrid: performance and API improvements, new controls!
 

Version 2.0 of Xceed DataGrid for Silverlight features major performance improvements, especially when using large grids (e.g., fullscreen). The editing API has been made more intuitive and has been enhanced, thanks to more detailed edit events and the support of standard Silverlight controls as editors (TextBox, TextBlock, Checkbox, Selector, ContentControl, DatePicker). Properties have been added that make it easier to customize columns. DataGridCheckBox, DataGridComboBox, DataGridTextBox, and DataGridNumericTextBox controls—which support the datagrid’s theme whether used inside or outside of the datagrid—have been added.

Performance enhancements and API improvements in WPF Datagrid
 

Xceed DataGrid for WPF version 4.3 features improved performance during horizontal scrolling with a large number of columns, as well as improved performance, responsiveness, and efficiency in auto-filtering when there are changes in the data source. Initial loading and vertical scrolling have been improved, as has scrolling performance while dragging a column over the edges of the datagrid. Xceed DataGrid for WPF Professional Edition v3.7 Released
 

Xceed DataGrid for WPF Professional Edition v3.7 features various new capabilities. New events give programmers control over how the data grid reacts when the current visual row is changing or has changed, and allows the change to be canceled in certain situations. A new continuous insertion mode property lets programmers deliver improved data entry to end-users, removing the need to manually go to the first editable cell after entering a row’s data. Column cells can now be non-focusable when read-only. Notifications for auto-filter value changes are now provided. Also, Unicode is now enabled in the grid’s clipboard exporters for enhanced character support. Finally, there have been several bug fixes.

Version 3.6 features an innovative new group navigation control in the Tableflow™ view greatly increases the datagrid’s usability. It also features print preview capabilities (generated in the background). Multi-selection now works data virtualization. A vibrant new Windows 7 theme and the theme used in Xceed Live Explorer bring the number of themes to 18. HP’s QuickTest Professional (QTP) is now supported, allowing for automated UI testing. Xceed FTP for .NET and .NET CF updated (v4.0)
 

Xceed FTP for .NET has been updated to version 4.0 and features performance enhancements that resolves certain issues that can arise when connecting to a server running behind a firewall, with the addition of the CCC (clear command channel) command. Other interfaces changes, which have also been made to Xceed FTP for .NET CF (v4.0), further improve working with servers protected by a firewall. In addition, internal architecture changes to both products will help prevent applications from hanging or small files from being empty after transfer under certain circumstances. Finally, various enumerations have been modified to match those found in the .NET Framework to take advantage of the .NET Framework SslStream class.

Xceed Upload for Silverlight updated (v1.1)
 

The ability to upload unlimited amounts of data in a single operation or batch has been added to Xceed Upload for Silverlight, using the HTTP 1.1 “chunked” format and Silverlight’s Sockets class. Can compress and uncompress files without resorting to intermediate disk/memory storage or temporary files, making it the perfect match for Silverlight: it doesn’t necessarily need to access the client file system. Supports the BZip2, BWT, Deflate, and Deflate64™ compression/decompression methods. AES encryption and decryption are supported for maximum security. Xceed DataGrid for WPF updated (v2.0)
 

Xceed DataGrid for WPF Professional Edition v2.0 features the addition of hierarchical master/detail capabilities. Detail grids can have “sibling” or “child” detail grids, or both, and also support headers and footers, grouping, sorting, and autofiltering, as well as custom detail relations and different styles for the data items contained in each same-level detail. Finally, custom grouping in grid and details is supported. Full VS2008 Compatibility for all .NET Products
 

All of Xceed's .NET components have been fully tested with Visual Studio 2008 and are fully compatible with Microsoft's latest IDE. All of the sample applications packaged with the products have also been converted to VS2008. The VS2005 versions are still packaged with the products.

Xceed Provides Zip and Chart Components for Windows Home Server
 

Xceed’s components figure in the client-side and the server-side of Windows Home Server, providing both UI elements and data manipulation capabilities. First, in the Windows Home Server Console, duties for displaying charts with statistics on free storage space, usage, etc., are handled by Xceed Chart for .NET. Second, when the home server is accessed remotely, Xceed Zip for .NET is used to compress and package files so they can be downloaded as a single Zip file onto a computer over the Internet. Windows Home Server helps families easily centralize and connect their digital experiences, providing a familiar and reliable way to store, share, and automatically protect digital photos, music, videos, and documents. Windows Home Server is primarily designed for “headless” systems without a monitor, mouse or keyboard. The Professional Edition of Xceed DataGrid for WPF version 1.3 features Excel-like end-user automatic filtering, which filters items in the underlying data source. Both the Professional Edition and the Express Edition feature robust Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Blend design-time support. Xceed DataGrid for WPF will therefore support the next version of Microsoft's software development IDE as soon as it is available (scheduled for release as early as November 2007). By supporting Expression Blend, Xceed brings the ability to customize the look and feel of its WPF datagrid in an environment targeted at designers, which eliminates the need for developer intervention, increasing productivity and extending an application’s impact. Furthermore, a scroll tip has been added, which displays information about the first visible row in the viewport when the grid is scrolled. Finally, a VB.NET template with a tutorial is provided for setting up a new theme project for creating custom themes, complementing the already available C# template.
