Connect Help?

I am using VS2K5 and installed Grid+UI, etc.. My help files are not integrated though. How can I integrate the help files to be context sensitive and interacting with my dev environment?

    Thanks!

    Re: Connect Help?

    Hi Stacey,

The documentation should be integrated into Visual Studio 2005... Was there a problem during the installation process?

In order for the F1 help integration to function, the "Microsoft Combined Help Collection" must be selected as your preferred. help collection in Visual Studio. The collection can be verified/modified by the "Tools\Environment\Help" menu item.

If the documentation still does not appear, try reinstalling the package. If that fails, please contact technical support at support@xceedsoft.com

    Re: Connect Help?

    Dear Jenny,

I also installed the chart component and the help is not integrated into the Visual Studio 2005 help (BTW I use Visual C++ 2005). But there is no "Tools\Environment\Help" menu item. The only thing I found is "Tools\Options\Environment\Help" although there is no way to configure the help collection under that menu item.

    Thanks,

    Tibor

    Re: Connect Help?

I'm surprised by your results, the next step would be to re-install the latest package and make sure to check the option to integrate the help file. This should have worked out of the box.

    Re: Connect Help?

Is there any update on this issue? I'm seeing the same thing: installed Xceed, but no help in VS2005. I've got VS2003 and VS2005 installed on the same box. During installation, there was an option to integrate into 2003 help, but no option for 2005. Having to manually open 2003 help is really really annoying. Is there any way to manually fix this?

    Re: Connect Help?

Which version of the installation package are you using? You should not have this issue with the latest .NET 1.1 or .NET 2.0 packages.

    Re: Connect Help?

I'm using the package that includes Grid 3.0. Upgrading the package is not really an option as we've shipped products using Grid 3.0, so we'd have to re-test everything. A manual workaround is acceptable.

You can send a request to support, and we will send files you can use to integrate the help into VS2005.
