    Wish list for next release

What would you like to see in the next version of Xceed FTP Library?

    Examples:

    - Secure FTP?
    - Auto-restart of broken transfers?

    ToodToo,

We could do that. The goal of the "quick" functions is to provide a one-line-of-code interface for the most frequently used functions (mainly send and receive). For delete, we figured most users would need more flexibility (example: delete a list of files, not just one) but there's really no reason why we can't expand the QuickFTP set to include Delete. Perhaps Move / Rename as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Wish list for next release

When XceedFTP is in background mode I would like it to fire the ProcessCompleted event and maybe even the ListingFolderItem event when there are no files in the remote folder. This would keep me from having to create a bunch of code to test the status and re-establish where the app is in completing it's tasks. 8)

Also I think it would be helpful to add to the otherwise excellant documentation that these events don't fire :| when there is the remote directory is empty.

Secure FTP....... I need it as soon as possible. Another vendor wats to charge me nearly $1000 for it and I already own a full Xceed package.

SendMultipleFiles to Accept an Array of Strings

My app needs to be able to publish files from various folders/drives.

I wish there was a version of SendMultipleFiles that could accept an Array instead of a local file mask. The Array would be of type String and the developer could simply populate the array with a list of fully qualified file names.

I also would love to see auto-restart transfers with necessary events to allow devloper to keep user informed of these activities.

    Thanks!!

Re: Wish list for next release

Is there any release date for SFTP support?

Otherwise I have to look for other vendors?

    Thanks

Re: Wish list for next release

We are experimenting with Secure FTP at the moment. We're likely to come out with it in the .NET component first, and then work on the ActiveX FTP component possibly right after. At the moment I cannot provide a release date other than to say that it will be on or after Q3 2004.

Can you please state which Secure FTP servers you need compatibility for out of the box?

    Thanks,

Re: Wish list for next release

I absolutely, positively need this library to fail gracefully when the network connection is lost. If I pull the cable during a file transfer (using receivefiles), the DLL will occassionally just hang there forever. For industrial applications, I cannot have a robot locked up because the library is failing to communicate... this costs tens of thousands of dollars of downtime.

Any progress on implementing Secure FTP in .NET and/or ActiveX FTP?

    Hello jaryr.

There is no short-term plan to add SSL support to the ActiveX version.

Hmm... Is there long-term plan to add SSL support to ActiveX version?
    Any time-frame, 6 months, 12 months...?
