    Unicode support in SmartUI control

I have created SmartUI (activex) controls in my VB6 project. I need to enter Maldive's DHIVEHI scripts into the xceed smartui combo and list boxes. I have also downloaded the Maldive unicode font from http://www.mitf.net/index.php/projects/thaana/font-unicode.html. This unicode font support Thaana script which is the language used by Maldive. I could use this font to input DHIVEHI scripts into MS Words 97 (my WINXP is configured with IME support for DIVEHI Phonetic) . I could copy these words entered in Words97 and paste into a Smartui combo box/list box and the control displays the words properly. However, when I try to key in the alphabets directly into the SmartUI combo, I get the '?????' question marks which show the combo box not understanding the data entry. On a separate note, I could key in Chinese characters directly into the SmartUI combo box with the WINXP IME for Chinese.

I am puzzled. What went wrong?

Re: Unicode support in SmartUI control

If the Maldive is a pure Unicode ( no ansi / code page to represent it ), then smartui is not supporting it, if a code page can be used to represent the Maldive unicode, then it should work.

I am not sure exactly how to configure my computer to input Maldive (Thaana script), it is not in my list of input language, is there a setup to add it to my station ? (the font will not be enough)
