We are planning to buy use XCeed Datagrid for WPF in our new project. I'm not sure whether using XCeed Data grid, is there a possibility to have custom auto filter as what we have in Microsoft Excel?

Yes, creating a custom AutoFilter is possible since custom distinct values can be provided for one or more item properties rather than the originally extracted distinct values by handling their QueryDistinctValue event and returning the custom value. See example 3 in the folowing link:

 Thanks for your quick response. The custom auto filter what we are looking for should have text "Custom" below the "(Clear Filter)" button. When use clicks "Custom" they get a window with options like "Show rows where:" selected column has values equals or does not equal or greater than...This is very similar to excel, where when we enable auto filter on a column, and when we click the down arrow we have this "Custom" option.

 Please let me know if am not clear.

What you described will not be possible using a custom Xceed AutoFilter. You will need to create your own DropDown and handle its click event to make it pop up a new window according to the data key pressed; and in that window, you can put your filtered results...

 This feature will be required for all Xceed users who use Xceed's excel like filtering. Since we are used to this option from excel. Moreover Infragistics, Telerik and Developer Express have this feature in their WPF grid by default.

The only feature unique (as per my knowledge) in Xceed is its Data virtualization. Again in this mode it doesn't support hierarchy. Without hierarchy in data virtualization and without custom auto filter there is no strong reason why we should use Xceed compared to Infragistics or Telerik. Since data virtualization can be achieved using paging in any grid.

I have made a feature request for more Excel-like filter cell editors.

Paging is an outdated 90s concept; the current way is continuously scrolling using data virtualization. And the TableflowView that we offer gives smoother experience, quicker vertical scrolling than any other competitor. Also, our DataVirtualization done through our DataGridVirtualizingQueryableCollectionView handles everything for you and is asynchronous, therefore it does not freeze the UI.
