    Databound Hierarchical GridControl using DetailGrid

I have an entity with an ID and a self referencing ParentID (both int) and I have successfully set up a DetailGrid to display the children at the first level, but have not found a way to have that cycle repeat itself down the hierarchy as required. The examples only seem to show how to do it manually....

     Any ideas?

    Hi,

Which examples were you talking about?

    You can look here: http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/XceedGrid/Master_Detail.html

You can also investigate this area: http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/XceedGrid/Building_a_bound_hierarchical_master_detail_grid.html

or in the case of unbound data, http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/XceedGrid/Building_an_unbound_hierarchical_master_detail_grid.html

More examples : D:\Xceed Component Samples\Xceed Grid for .NET 3.8\Samples\CSharp\MasterDetailModes

The best example of a "TreeView" like situation was the GridTreeViewBrowser, but as mentioned above, that is not databound.

Re: Databound Hierarchical GridControl using DetailGrid

    Hi again,

have you checked the 'Solid foundation' source code of the Xceed Grid Live Explorer?  I think it should correspond to what you are looking for.  It should be in your folder C:\Xceed Component Samples\Xceed Grid for .NET 3.8\Samples\CSharp\SolidFoundation.

Also, there is the "Task-Based Help" page for the Grid for .NET which covers a lot of sitations.

    http://doc.xceedsoft.com/products/Xceedgrid/Task-Based_Help.html

Perhaps you can find there that I have missed.
