Hi,

I have successfully bound the column.visible property for my grid using code behind as per a suggestion in another thread like this:

BindingOperations.SetBinding(this.myGrid.Columns[index], Column.VisibleProperty,  new Binding()
    {
        Source = DataContext,
        Path = new PropertyPath("myVisibilityProperty")
    });

 
this  worked very nicely for me and I needed to do the same for the readonly property so I thought something like this would work:

 

BindingOperations.SetBinding(this.myGrid.Columns[index], Column.ReadOnlyProperty,  new Binding()
    {
        Source = DataContext,
        Path = new PropertyPath("myReadonlyProperty")
    });

unfortunately I get a System.InvalidCastException (both properties are public boolean properties in my presentation model which is set as my data context in the code behind)

I just ran into this as well, Xceed acknowledges that this is a defect.

 From their email:
"At the moment I do not have a time frame for when this will be fixed, and unfortunately there is no workaround for now aside from setting the value directly on each column."

 I put this here in case anyone else is searching for the same issue

Does anybody know if there is a way to do this in XAML?

same question. cant find a way to do this in xaml. the general {Binding Path=DataContext.<bool property> doesn't seem to work
