    Throttle Bandwidth

Is there a way to throttle the bandwidth of an ftp connection. I would like to allow the option to only ftp at 64 kbs,128 kbs, etc...

I am using the 1.1.4322 runtime version and version 3.2.8115.0 of XCeed.Ftp

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Re: Throttle Bandwidth

The FtpClient and the FtpConnection classes don't have this kind of parameter but, if you follow this thread http://xceed.com/CS/forums/thread/21267.aspx and you apply the opposite logic (i.e. a smaller buffer), you could be able to limit the bandwidth.  I will let you know if I can find a better way to do this.

    Re: Throttle Bandwidth

Thank you, I took a look and the 1.1 Framework version of the FtpClient Class does not have the DataTransferBufferSize property.

If you are able to find anything, please let me know.

    Re: Throttle Bandwidth

    Hi again,

Just a suggestion (not professional or even personal).  I've performed a search on google and found this : http://www.netlimiter.com  ...  Note that Xceed Software is not related to this product and we haven't tested it either.  I would suggest to test the free "monitor" utility first.  It got a 4/5 score on Cnet website ( http://download.cnet.com/NetLimiter/3000-12512_4-10227458.html ).  I don't have a better solution for the moment.

    Re: Throttle Bandwidth

Thanks for the link. We would not be able to use that. This is a change we wanted to provide to our clients as a feature in our product. If you should find a way, please keep me in mind.
